Article 978
Si les circonstances s’y prêtent, le juge tente de concilier les parties.
Le cas échéant, le juge fait dresser par le greffier un procès-verbal constatant l’entente des parties; cette entente, signée par les parties et par le juge, équivaut à jugement.

Article 978
Whenever possible, the judge attempts to reconcile the parties.
If a settlement is reached, the judge instructs the clerk to record the agreement; the agreement, signed by the parties and countersigned by the judge, is equivalent to a judgment.
