Article 589
L’officier chargé du bref peut, en tout temps, requérir du saisissant des avances, fixées par le greffier, pour couvrir les frais de garde; à défaut de paiement de ces avances, la saisie devient caduque.
Cependant, lorsque le ministre du Revenu agit comme saisissant en application de la Loi facilitant le paiement des pensions alimentaires (chapitre P‐2.2), aucune avance ne peut être requise de la part de l’officier chargé du bref.

Article 589
The seizing officer may at any time demand from the seizing creditor advances of money, fixed by the clerk, to cover the costs of safekeeping; if such advances are not paid, the seizure is discharged.
However, where the Minister of Revenue acts as seizing creditor pursuant to the Act to facilitate the payment of support (chapter P-2.2), no advance of money may be demanded by the seizing officer.
