Article 523.1
Lorsque l’appel ne vise qu’à faire augmenter le montant accordé par le jugement ou à faire réduire celui de la condamnation, un juge de la Cour d’appel peut, sur demande, ordonner à la partie qui a été condamnée d’exécuter le jugement jusqu’à concurrence du montant qui ne fait pas l’objet de l’appel.

Where the sole object of an appeal is to obtain an increase in the amount awarded by the judgment or a reduction of the amount of the condemnation, a judge of the Court of Appeal may, on application, order the condemned party to execute the judgment up to the amount that is not under appeal.
